NHM's new Discovery Center takes hands-on to a whole new level. Everything in this gallery is intended to be touched. Models, taxidermy specimen, microscopes, dinosaur bones, pelts and horns are just some of the amazing touchable pieces on display. Not only are visitors encouraged to touch, but they are encouraged to investigate the space in any way their curiosity guides them. If you want to have a closer look at a quartz rock, just carry it over to one of the three different types of microscopes. If you want to build your own food chain, line up taxidermy cats, birds and insects on the floor. This project was created in collaboration with the NHMLAC.
