"The Age of Mammals" fills the north wing of the original 1913 Beaux-Arts building of the Natural Hisory Museum of Los Angeles County with a mix of ancient fossils, interpretive displays, taxidermy specimens and interactive multimedia. Through over 150 specimen displayed on 10,000 square feet of exhibit space on the ground floor and mezzanine, scientists reconstruct Earth's history, showing how changes over millions of years to climate and continent movement resulted in mammalian evolution. This permanent installation is part of the first phase in a massive revitalization project at the NHM, and sets the tone for future projects. This project was created in collaboration with NHMLAC, Reich and Petch, Cinnabar, Second Story and KBDA.
